Casa Mott is a family house on the quiet and exclusive urbanisation of Quinta da Barra 1 mile north of Tavira, ½ an hour from Faro airport and 25 minutes from the Spanish border.

From the first floor terrace, there are views over Tavira and the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve to the beaches of Ilha de Cabanas and Ilha de Tavira.

A regular visitor has provided a good description of the property from the road. “I always know when I have got to your house, it’s the one you can’t see.”

The house, built about 12 years ago, is set back from the road in well-established gardens.

The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is ample cupboard space.

The dining room and lounge share a spacious, split level, open plan area. A large refectory table easily accommodates six adults and the lounge is comfortably furnished with chairs and settees, surrounded by chestnut furniture. There is an audio system and Sky Satellite television. The feature of one wall is a wood-burning stove in a brick surround to provide a really cosy environment for early and late season lettings.

Off the hallway is a laundry room with a fully automatic washing machine. The ground floor accommodation is completed by 2 large, double bedrooms, with twin beds and the ground floor bathroom. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. (This is an extra charge to be arranged with the local manager).

The south facing terrace is on the first floor, together with another large, twin-bedded room and the second bathroom.

An 8m x 3m swimming pool with Roman steps and a depth of 1m descending to 2m is set in a garden full of fruit trees with shady and sunny spots.

The house is cleaned prior to arrival and the bedding changed weekly. Additional arrangements can easily be made with the local manager who meets you on arrival and is always available to sort out problems or emergencies.

The miles and miles of unspoilt beaches are separated from the mainland by the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, crossed by local ferries and even a little train.

Casa Mott is just over 5 minutes by car from the nearest beaches. Access to the train and bus services running between Faro and the Spanish border, and the local shops, is within easy walking distance. However a car is recommended.

There are 4 golf courses within a few minutes drive and discounted green fees can be arranged for these, and all the other courses in the Algarve. An introduction is available to a very reasonably priced car hire company.
